Records are meant to be broken, and no one knows this better than world high jump king Javier Sotomayor. The Cuban legend, who holds the current world record of 2.45 meters, is already eyeing his next goal: breaking his own record.
Sotomayor, now 48, has not competed since 2001, but he has never lost his passion for the sport. In a recent interview, he said that he is still training and that he is confident that he can break his own record.
"I know it will be difficult, but I am confident that I can do it," Sotomayor said. "I am still in good shape, and I am still hungry for success."
Sotomayor's quest to break his own record is sure to attract a lot of attention from around the world. If he is successful, he will once again etch his name in the history books as one of the greatest athletes of all time.
